We’ve been big fans of Magellan’s Maestro line since it came out in early 2006. The Maestro interface is incredibly easy to use, even for those who are not completely comfortable with electronics. At the same time, Magellan was ahead of the industry with useful innovations like multi-destination routing and pre-loaded reviews for points of interest like hotels and restaurants (from AAA). old magellan
I should have realized that the price was too good to be true. Turns out the unit I got is several years old-version 1.3 or so, Magellan is currently up to version 4.

my first GPS experience
It’s impossible for me to rate this item in relation to others on the market, as this is my first encounter with a GPS unit. But the price is certainly right, at only $100.

Good GPS, old maps!
As a navigator, it’s a functional and easy to use device. However, the maps are from 2007 and if you want the 2009 update, it’ll cost you $80!

Good, BUT………..
The GPS unit works well, but I wish that I would have known that the maps needed to be updated the month after I purchased it. Maps for it cost $80.

very good product. super slim. i will not travel without it. it simplifies the driving for you and lets you enjoy a new city or tourist spot.
